Promoting Career Curiosity in K-12 Settings

Steve Regur, Ed.D. is the founder and CEO of Educators Cooperative and a national leader in career-connected learning, school transformation, and instructional innovation. With more than 30 years of experience in education, he works with schools, districts, workforce leaders, and education partners across the United States and internationally to turn bold ideas into practical, sustainable systems. He is often the partner leaders call when they have an ambitious vision and need to translate it into practice, while also nurturing the human side of change.

Steve is widely recognized for helping educators make career-connected learning part of everyday learning and part of core instruction rather than an add-on. He is the author of the Five Benchmarks for Career Connected Schools, a practical framework grounded in a low-drag, high-yield approach that is teacher-approved, easy to implement, and built on proven instructional strategies. Across his career, Steve has helped launch nine schools and has written the strategic plans, grants, school designs, and policy frameworks that help bold ideas become durable systems.

Under Steve’s leadership, Educators Cooperative develops practical print and digital tools, nationally recognized certifications, and long-term applied research. The organization also includes interns, apprentices, and students as members of development teams. Steve leads an international research advisory team that helps ensure the work remains rigorous, relevant, and responsive to practice.

masterclass DESCRIPTION

Career development should not be a one-time event. It should be woven into everyday learning.

In this Catapult Masterclass, Dr. Steve Regur and Ed Hidalgo show educators how to spark meaningful career conversations across K–12 classrooms using a shared language, the RIASEC framework, and a dialogic, student-centered approach. Participants will learn how to help students explore their interests, strengths, identities, and future possibilities while engaging families, community partners, and school teams in the process. This masterclass is designed for educators who want to make learning more relevant, personal, and connected to students’ futures. Because career work is identity work. And when students can better understand themselves, they can better imagine what is possible.
